Company Overview

Established in 1888 in what is now the Old City Park, the Dallas Zoo spans across over 110 acres (and growing!), and provides cultural and recreational service to the citizens of the City of Dallas and beyond. In 2018, the Dallas Zoo celebrated 130 years in operation.

Formerly managed by the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department, the Dallas Zoo came under a new management team, Dallas Zoo Management, Inc. ("DZM"). DZM oversees animal care, health, and welfare, along with Zoo administration, education programming, guest experiences, facility maintenance operations, general cleaning, and waste disposal. Another entity, Service Systems Associates (SSA), manages the restaurants, Gift Shop, and concessions stands.
